Crosstrek is Subaru’s smallest crossover. The model will debut on the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. Despite to the fact, that Crosstrek is their smallest SUV, that doesn’t mean it’s not holding great stuff in itself. It is based on the new Impreza what Subaru released in 2016. They have some common quality’s but also some differences as well. Overall it is a new machine with modern features, stronger engine but also with other novelty’s.

Exterior and Interior

The new Crosstrek got a rugg look, with a rear bumpers and black cladding what is on the wheel arches and on the panels. If you take a close look, the outside is much more identical to Impreza. We can read somewhere that the crosstrek is actually the new Imprezza. The new model got a refreshed sporty and long body, also with a highlighted lines and shapes, with inclined roof. This model is lighter but has more sharper edges as the previous model.
Inside of the cabin we can find pretty amazing stuffs. It comes with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, USB, Bluetooth, foldeable rear seats etc. Most of the trims will be available in two kind combinated color, the dash and the carpet will be in darker color. Head and legroom are quite large, and overall the whole cabin is absolutely comfortable and pleasant.

Engine and Performance

The 2018 Crosstrek has the 2017 Impreza’s 2.0-liter 1.4 engine what can deliver 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. The engine is connected with a CVT. On www.motortrend.com we can read that the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek have yet to be crash tested by the IIHS and NHTSA. However the previous model get the highest mark from the NHTSA, and also got awarded for top safety pick by the IIHS. So this year safety is on more higher level, they now include more improvements as the adaptive cruise control, automatic pre-collision braking, sway waening, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert etc.

The upcoming model will show up first of all on the motor show, and from some rumors customers could expect showing up on the market in the middle of the year already.
