2021 Nissan Pathfinder is one of the most excellent models from this class, handsome and small, but strong enough to follow the course in the most challenging demands. When they made it in 1996, it had the same popularity as today. It is a model that is cute and attractive, instrumental and practical, but still unique and modern.
They have improved it for this year, adding details in design and the cabin. It has new technology and infotainment system, too. On the other hand, it has a great engine, the same as before.
- The model has a great design .
- There are high engines under the hood.
- There are no significant changes in design.
- The model has too many similarities with other models in the class.
According to the manufacturer, 2021 Nissan Pathfinder is made on D platform, the same that they have used for Nissan Altima, Maxima, and Murano. Not only that model should be pretty and very attractive; they will use upgraded additions to improve stability, handling, and controlling during driving. There are similarities with Nissan Patrol, mostly in recognizable wide front end and grille.
Speaking about the front end, there is a dominant V-shape grille, split LED lights, and modern additions on the bumper’s bottom. The manufacturer has decided to use the same low roofline as on Nissan Juke, which provides the shape of the sporty but not that robust model as it was before. There is a pretty rear glass that wraps tailgate and great boxy shape of the back end.
There are no significant changes in the cabin of the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder, as we know for. It is a large, seven-seat wagon model, with recognizable and already used flat-bottom steering wheel. In the center of the dashboard stands digital instrument cluster and large touchscreen with HVAC controls below the panel. They have not said much about the changes in technology.
But it is for sure that they will upgrade the infotainment system and improve with the Ariya concept that they released last year. There are significant similarities with the design of Toyota RAV4, and they will surely use a combination of colors, like piano black in higher trims. Along with the standard equipment, things like a lane-keep assistant, blind-spot camera, rear cross-traffic alert, and many more should be found.
2021 Nissan Pathfinder Engine
There are two optional engines that the new 2021 Nissan Pathfinder will get. The base model has the same engine as before, a 3.5-liter V6 model and its 300 horsepower. There is a more potent turbocharged 2.0-liter variable-compression four-cylinder model, too. Although the manufacturer has not confirmed yet, there are high chances that we could see a hybrid model with this version.
In that case, it could be a combination of one of those two and a powerful electric motor. When it comes to the transmission, it should be CVT or a nine-speed automatic one. Like the previous model, it will be a front-wheel model with an optional all-wheel version and with shift-on-the-fly terrain model.
2021 Nissan Pathfinder Release Date and Price
Although the current pandemic has delayed all shows and releases, we expect that the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder will be on the market in fall. We have reasons to believe that customers expect it and wait to see how the refreshed model will look like. When it comes to the price, we do not assume that it will be much higher than $30,000.
