There are a lot of rumors about 2021 Jeep Gladiator, but now we can finally confirm that this model will be on the market next year. However, we know that last year’s model has been fully redesigned, so do not expect significant changes in design or engine offer this time. More likely, this is only a continuation of the model for the next season.
- The model is efficient for work and off-road driving.
- There should be offered a diesel engine this time.
- The model has a simple and not much attractive design.
- The cabin is too flat and dull for the class.
There are no significant changes in the design of the 2021 Jeep Gladiator so far. It is entirely based on Jeep Wrangler, so expect the boxy and simple shape of the car, with old-fashioned but exciting details on it. It will have the same flat gridded grille with rounded front lights and the full bottom of the bumper.
When it comes to the rear end, there is an impressive but straightforward high trunk door with full glass on top of it. Since we know that the current Gladiator has removable doors and crowns, we expect the same in the new version, too. However, it has not soft edges and lines as Ford Ranger, and undoubtedly not sophisticated front end as GMC Canyon. It is a more likely model for heavy load and off-road driving.
The manufacturer has made a completely the same cabin in 2021 Jeep Gladiator, meaning boxy but full and comfortable spacious interior. Old buyers will recognize Wrangler’s model, but much simpler and more practical.
The manufacturer has not lost time and money on expensive materials, but those that they used are still quality. Still, there is not a level of comfort as on Chevrolet Colorado. The standard model gets a 5-inch touchscreen with a tremendous eight-speaker audio system, while the higher trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth speaker, and leather seats.
The manufacturer has also not saved money on the safety program. You will see automatic emergency braking, parking sensors, and a blind-spot monitor. The safety program is the same as last year’s model.
2021 Jeep Gladiator Engine
The same as on design, we do not expect changes in the engine offered in 2021 Jeep Gladiator. It should get a reliable and trustworthy 3.8-liter V6 petrol model with an incredible 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It should come paired with six-speed manual transmission and maybe eight-speed automatic one.
The last option is only for higher trims and on customer’s demand. Since Gladiator is a model for off-road adventures mostly, it comes as an all-wheel driving model as a standard option. Speaking about the off-road driving, the manufacturer adapted axles, suspension, and transfer cases for better driving and handling on rough terrain.
There should be another engine, though. As rumors claim, the Gladiator should have a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 model as optional. This engine produces 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Although this model should be made during 2020, it is not for sure that this version of Gladiator will get it.
2021 Jeep Gladiator Release Date and Price
2021 Jeep Gladiator comes very soon after last year’s model, so do not expect that the manufacturer will release it before the second half of the year. The price is still favorable for this class, around $38,000 for the standard model. With additional equipment, like eight-speed automatic transmission, you must prepare $47,000, which is the price for a fully equipped version.
