Being a continuation of the famous small and useful SUV crossover, 2021 Honda Pilot should follow an expected design. However, since the last full redesign happened when 2016 model was released, we believe that it could be significantly changed this time.
We do not expect that the new model will change the appearance and recognizable shape of the car, though. The cabin is wide and roomy enough, while the design of the chassis is acceptably modern and unique, yet not much distinguished from the models in the class. When it comes to the engine, only novelty could be a hybrid version of the current petrol option.
- The model is attractive and practical.
- There should be a new hybrid engine along with the current petrol ones.
- The model has not changed the design for a long time.
- The equipment could be better.
The exterior of the 2021 Honda Pilot should be similar as before, with visible changes in ends and bumpers. The front end will undergo the major changes, getting the new grille and changed the shape of the lights. There should be higher and more rounded edges and great new wide bottom of the front end.
The rear end is almost the same, with few new lines and details on the trunk door and spoiler on the top of the trunk. The overall shape of the car follows the main usage of the car, with practical but attractive details on the sides.
There should not be changes in the design of the cabin in 2021 Honda Pilot. We know that the cabin in this crossover has always been attractive to young buyers, mostly because of the equipment that the manufacturer included. On the other hand, in spite of the first impression, Pilot is not a small car, so the cabin is comfortable and wide enough for family usage. There is great equipment as always, too.
The major change in 2021 Honda Pilot from the last year model is surely a new hybrid engine that it could get along with two existed models. Speaking about the existing models, those are trustworthy and strong, but efficient enough for this size of the car. One option is 3.5-liter V6, a well known strong engine that offers Toyota Highlander, too.
The strength of 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque is strong enough to make the model even more attractive and useful. The engine is paired with 10-speed automatic transmission, significantly stronger than 6-speed and 9-speed ones that old models had. However, there will be another engine in offer. It is 2.0-liter turbocharged four-in-line that you already saw in Honda Accord. This engine provides 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.
2021 Honda Pilot Release Date and Price
When designers finally finish it, 2021 Honda Pilot could be on the road by the end of the next year. However, it will not be before the middle of the year, and before other models in class show their versions, too. Even though the model is significantly redesigned this time, it is not expected that we will see it for the higher price.
More likely will base model cost around $33,000 and the price will expectedly increase with the options that buyers could demand. One of their wishes could be about the hybrid engine, though.
