2020 Ford Everest should be a new version of well-known SUV made in Ford, one of those made in T6 body-on-frame platform, together with 2020 Ranger and new 2020 Bronco. The platform is used in 2007 outside of US for the Brazilian version of Ford called Troller. However, Everest (or Endeavour in some market) is actually only slightly redesigned and revamped SUV, which got only a few new details and possible changes in engine and equipment. Thanks to those changes it is more attractive and competitive, but it is still in the middle of the range with features that it offers.
- Everest is much more attractive than before and has interesting details on bumpers.
- The equipment is very attractive and improved from the last model.
- Taking in mind the performances and the engine, it is still in the middle of the class.
- The price is above the average for the class.
There are similarities between 2020 Ford Everest, new Bronco, and Ranger, mostly in the front end and recognizable grille. As we said, all three are made on the same platform, and the manufacturer used the same details on bumpers. However, Everest looks like average SUV in class, with the short rounded end, decoration on the trunk door and thin spoiler on the rear window, perhaps like Toyota RAV, or Honda CR-V. Solid metallic bottom on front bumper reminds us that it is a vehicle for off-road driving, too.
2020 Ford Everest is family-oriented three-row SUV with the comfortable and roomy cabin, and great new equipment. There are a new rearview camera, safety system, rear parking sensors, 8.0-inch infotainment system with navigation, and Apple Car Play and Android Car application. For safety purposes, there is automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and vehicle detection. There are expected new materials and ebony new theme.
There are two possible engines that future buyers will be able to choose in this model. The first one is a standard 3.2-liter five-in-line diesel matched with a six-speed automatic transmission that produces 197 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque. The second option is a new for this version, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-in-line diesel, paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission which produces 210 horsepower and 197 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to this engine, Everest will be able to tow 6,800 pounds.
2020 Ford Everest Release Date and Price
Even though many people expected that new Bronco will be almost the same as Everest, spy photos that we were able to see in March showed that it is much closer to Ranger, and Everest has much better details and improved parts. However, 2020 Ford Everest will be on the market at beginning of the next year. Expected price is not far away from the current one, so expect that it will be in the range from $48,000 to $74,000.
