Although we have seen a complete redesign for the year 2018 and some minor updates for 2019, it seems that the popular Chevrolet Equinox has already been on its way to hit the market as a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox model. Due to these recent makeovers, we probably shouldn’t expect any major or revolutionary changes on the upcoming Equinox.
- three engine options,
- all-wheel drive available
- less cargo space than its rivals,
- no major changes
As we have already mentioned, the exterior design language of the Chevrolet Equinox has been quite fresh and innovative since the fans had the chance to see some major redesign in 2018 and minor refreshments for the 2019 model. Therefore, they shouldn’t be expecting any major changes or updates in terms of look when it comes to 2020 Equinox. Instead, the upcoming Equinox is still going to appear as a four-door midsize crossover that will be riding on the same D2 platform shared with its cousins Chevrolet Cruze and Volt. Of course, the new Equinox will be more attractive and modern than its predecessor, even offering some luxurious features on its top trim level Premium. Besides Premium, the fans will have the chance to choose among three other levels – the base L, LS and LT.
Inside the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, you will find a spacious and comfortable cabin that will undergo some minor changes and updates as well. This crossover will be able to accommodate up to five adult passengers thanks to its two rows of seats, but there might be some space issues when it comes to cargo area. Also, it has been said that you can expect some high-quality leather on the seats in Premium trim level only. The new Equinox should offer a 7.0 or an 8.0-inch infotainment touch-screen, depending on the trim level you choose. It will provide some of the latest high-tech features and connectivity options such as navigation system, a premium Bose audio system, satellite radio, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, Bluetooth and others. When it comes to safety systems and driver assist features, this popular crossover should come equipped with a rearview camera, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and more.
No major changes should be expected under the hood of the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox either. Instead, this model should keep offering its three engine options. The base model comes with a 1.5-liter turbo-four, paired with a six-speed automatic. The other option includes a 2.0-liter turbo-four, paired with a nine-speed automatic. Finally, a 1.6-liter diesel turbo-four should come mated to a six-speed automatic. Besides its standard front-wheel drive, the all-wheel drive system should be available as optional.
2020 Chevrolet Equinox Release date and Price
The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox is expected to hit the market in the third quarter of 2019, but the release date hasn’t been officially confirmed. The price shouldn’t change much.
