2019 Isuzu D-MAX is an old but slightly changed model that manufacture released as the answer to many demands and changes in the truck market. Since the model was redesigned soon, the manufacturer has not changed it a lot this time, remaining the same shape and design as the second generation of the model. Its design and features should be good enough to be competitive with many trucks on the market nowadays, but mostly with Ford Ranger which is its main rival.
2019 Isuzu D-MAX is well designed to follow high customers’ demands that hits SUV and truck manufactures. It is not important to have a large truck anymore, but it has to be attractive and powerful now. D-MAX fulfills those demands. Looking from the front end it has massive compact grille separated on two with horizontal metallic sheets. There is small air intake on the bottom and very small rounded fog lights on the sides of the bumper. The front lights include LED lights as daylight and xenon night lights, separately positioned. The rear end is flat is quite simple, with also LED rear lights and very simple addition on the bottom as a protection. The skid plates are also simple and highly positioned below doors. The only small curve on the bottom of rear end shows that we have a modern truck in front of us.
The cabin in 2019 Isuzu D-MAX is extremely comfortable and luxury, with thin leather on the seats, steering wheel and dashboard and chromatic details on them. The center console has an eight-inch touchscreen which includes Isuzu Connect World Infotainment System and many interesting commands and functions. In terms of the technology, there are automatic climate control, Bluetooth connection, USB ports, audio and sound system and many more.
2019 Isuzu D-MAX gets three engines as optional, but those are diesel only. The base model is equipped with a 1.9-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that produces 163 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, then comes 3.0-liter four-cylinder turbo with 174 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque and then 2.5-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo engine with 165 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. All of them get five-speed automatic and manual transmission and could be offered as front and all-wheel driving systems.
2019 Isuzu D-MAX Release Date and Price
2019 Isuzu D-MAX is debuted at 2018 North American International Auto Show (short NAIAS), so its selling starts next year. Even though base price is promised to be around $30,000, we expect that it could be higher, maybe $40,000 with all additions and equipment.
