After all those numerous speculations that Chevrolet might discontinue its popular full-size sedan, it seems that this can only happen after the 2019 Chevrolet Impala has hit the market. The popular sedan is here again, although being slightly refreshed and wearing some minor updates. For some major redesign we should wait for the next generation of this model, if it actually ever happens.
- available V6 engine,
- standard My Link infotainment system and a rearview camera.
- weak base engine,
- no major changes and updates.
As we have already mentioned, no major changes in terms of design should be expected if you decide upon the new 2019 Chevrolet Impala. However, this full-size sedan won’t let you down and it appears as an attractive, elegant and very classy vehicle. Its exterior features and overall equipment depend on the trim level you choose since there are three of them – LS, LT and Premier. The Premier, of course, offers the best package, including a V6 engine under the hood. When we talk about updates, the 2019 Impala isn’t available with its previously offered body color choice known as Graphite Metallic. Otherwise than that, this sedan will look pretty much the same as its 2018 redesigned cousin. It will use the same old long-wheelbase platform that provides lots of space for you, your passengers and your cargo.
A large and classy sedan like this can only provide the matching elegant cabin inside. No revolutionary changes have been seen when it comes to its interior as well, but the fans can hope for some truly improved black premium cloth in base trim levels. Of course, the top Premier trim offers leather seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The car also comes with an 8.0-inch infotainment touch-screen with the latest My Link as standard. It provides features such as navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, a six-speaker audio system as optional and a eleven-speaker Bose audio system in top trim, Bluetooth connection, USB ports, Apple Car Play and Android Auto. A rearview camera comes as standard, but the new Impala is also available with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors.
The base 2019 Chevrolet Impala model comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that provides 197 horsepower ‘only’. If you want more power, you should choose the top Premier trim level that comes with a V6 and hits 306 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and come with the front-wheel drive as standard.
