Although we have seen its complete redesign for the year 2018, Chevrolet has already brought its 2019 Chevrolet Equinox to the market. The fans are able to choose among four trims and get some rather upgraded features as well as three engine options under the hood.
- three engine options available.
- smaller cargo area,
- interior materials below expectations
When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, this four-door midsize crossover has hit the market with some minor but distinctive visual updates, especially on its top trims. As we have already mentioned, the exterior design of this crossover has been quite fresh so there are no major changes on this 2019 model. However, that will depend on which trim level you choose since there will be four of them – L, LS, LT and Premier. For instance, the L trim will provide heated power-adjustable mirrors and 17-inch wheels. The top trim level, known as the Premier, stands on 19-inch wheels. It also uses the latest LED technology on its headlights and fog lights. Whatever model you decide upon, the new Equinox definitely looks more attractive and luxurious than the 2018 model.
The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox comes with quite spacious, comfortable and modern interior. Its cabin provides two rows of seats with plenty of space to accommodate up to five adult passengers. On the other hand, it offers much smaller cargo area than its competitors. Another downside also involves the materials Chevrolet uses inside its cabin. Except the top Premier version, that has been leather-trimmed, other models use fabric. When it comes to improvements, lots of them are found in terms of technology and safety. The base model, for instance, comes with a 7.0-inch infotainment touch-screen while an 8.0-inch one can be found in Premier trim level. The new Equinox provides numerous standard and optional high-tech features such as navigation, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple Car Play, Android Auto and a seven-speaker Bose audio system. The crossover also comes with improved safety systems and driver assist features that include a surround-view camera, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera and others.
As we have already mentioned, the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox offers more than one engine choice under its hood – three, actually. The first and base option uses a 1.5-liter turbo-four that hits 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The second option includes a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 262 horsepower while the third one comes with a 1.6-liter diesel. Both options are mated to a nine-speed automatic. Also, the front-wheel drive comes as standard, but the all-wheel drive is available as well.
