2018 Volkswagen Touareg

After we saw new 2018 Volkswagen Touareg, we can tell that there is planned a huge renovation in VW, especially in SUV class. That confirmed the new Atlas we previously had seen on 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and new Tiguan we were able to see on 2017 Detroit Auto Show, too. Even though there are many similarities between those three models, we also saw many differences which are worthy of mentioning in every single case. When it comes to Touareg, it is a standard five-seat crossover, this time redesigned with slight changes inside of the cabin.

First of all, 2018 Volkswagen Touareg has one big difference from the Atlas and that is its size. The Atlas is a seven-seat model, which means longer and wider than five-seat Touareg. But, that is not all. The Atlas has characteristic lines below the door hands, while Touareg has the same line above them. However, there are many similarities with Atlas, too. Both have recognizable VW front grille, with chromatic lines and incorporated LED lights on the sides, rounded hood and wide air intake below them. The rear end is almost a classical, with simple rounded truck door and old-fashioned rear lights. Besides the dents in down part of the car, hands on the roof and thin spoiler on the rear window, there are almost no visible details worthy of mentioning on this model. We should wait for the final version and trim versions to see if this will be all they offered this time.

As a five-seat model, 2018 Volkswagen Touareg is much different in the cabin form the Atlas, even though the manufacturer kept all great features it has put in previous models. As we saw on spy photos, there will be a much lighter equipped cabin, but not at the expense of practicality and usefulness. The new design includes new digital instrument cluster as well as improved autonomous driving control. There should be few novelties in the audio and sound system, too.

Although we still have not got a confirmation from the manufacturer as we concerned 2018 Volkswagen Touareg should come with a four-in-line engine with possibly V6 option together with a hybrid part. Whatever engine type it be, an eight-speed automatic transmission is most likely on these models.

As the manufacturer still waits for the approving in the US, it should be released at the end of the year. The price is still not confimrd yet, and we foun information from autoexpress.co.uk that price will be around £70,000.
