2018 Volkswagen Polo Review

The well-known German brand has announced that their sixth generation of Polo model is going to hit the market this year. This impressive hatchback has been one of the most famous and best-selling Volkswagen models, especially in Europe. The new 2018 Volkswagen Polo comes with its recognizable exterior, but with many innovations and options inside its outstanding body. It will probably make its appearance at 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Exterior

The exterior of the 2018 Volkswagen Polo has not undergone any significant changes and it mostly stays faithful to its sleek and modern design. However, the new model will get more aerodynamic and sportier appearance, especially in the front end. First of all, we have noticed a big horizontal chrome strip in the middle of a redesigned grille. The other grille in black color will be found on the bumper. The headlamps seem slimmer and they will be using the latest LED technology. The rear bumper seems similar to the one seen on the current model while the taillights will get a whole new look. Narrower rear door and windows give the new Polo more modern and muscular style.

Interior

While the exterior will be pretty much familiar to all Polo’s fans, this will not be the case inside this model. The interior of the 2018 Volkswagen Polo can be described as simple, sporty and comfortable. The manufacturers from VW wanted to follow the next-generation cars trend, so they provided the latest high-tech features for you. On the simple but modern dashboard, you can find a digital instrument cluster and a touch screen ranging from 6.5 – 8.0 inches, depending on the version you choose. Options such as Android Auto and Apple Car Play will be offered as well as Wi-Fi and many others. You can also expect the latest safety and driver’s assist systems such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear-traffic alert, city emergency braking, park assist and others.

Engine

Believe it or not, the new 2018 VW Polo will be available in six gasoline versions. The first of many power train options comes with a 1.0-liter turbo where the versions with 65, 75 and 95 horsepower will offer a five-speed manual while the one with 115 horsepower will come with a six-speed manual transmission. There will also be a 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter TSI as well as a 1.6-liter TDI engine with 80 or 95 horsepower. In terms of engine, perhaps the greatest innovation would be the option with a 1.0-liter TGI and a natural gas drive train. This version will probably come with 90 horsepower and a five-speed manual transmission.
