The 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography is the latest offering from the British luxury car company, Land Rover. The new model just premiered at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show where it wowed the audiences with even more luxury, power and high-tech features than many thought was even possible.
The interior is where this new model rally shines. I t is not only stylish and luxurious, but also roomy with 46.8 inches of legroom that is due to that extra-long Range Rover wheelbase. The new model features brand-new executive rear seats as well as 22-way power adjustable seats that offer a hot stone massage program. All the seats come upholstered in Poltrona Frau Leather with a 40-degree recline, as well as some heated calf and footrests. But the fun doesn’t stop there. Hidden in the center console is a refrigerator compartment where you can stow up to four 20-oz bottles. There are also controls that will close the rear doors and open tables with just one click. For entertainment purposes, the designers included dual 10.0-inch rear monitors and 4G Wi-Fi connectivity.
In terms of design, the new SVAuthority does not disappoint with features like illuminated aluminum door sills, a couple of new veneers and as much as five revised interior color combinations. On the outside, there aren’t that many changes compared to some of the previous Range Rover models. There is, however, a distinct grille design with some new chrome inserts, as well as some Bright Atlas finish accents. The bumper perfectly blends with the metal exhaust finishers, while the 22-inch wheels get a whole new design that will be unique to the SVAutobiography.
For off-roading purposes, the SVAuthority comes with Land Rover’s Terrain Response system, as well as the Power Deployable Veneered Loadspace Floor that allows for a fairly easy loading and unloading to cargo.
Engine and Powertrain
Under the hood, there is a brand-new 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine that is capable of delivering up to 557 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. That is quite an improvement compared to the previous model’s 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft. When it comes to the performance, you can expect the new V8 to take the 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography from zero to 60 in just 5.2 seconds.
