The 2018 Range Rover Velar is the newest addition to the Land Rover lineup and will make its world debut on the 2017 Geneva auto show. Velar brings a new dimension of glamour, modernity and elegance to the Range Rover family.
His name is derived from the latin velare meaning to “veil” or “cover”. Land Rover first time uses this name as a code name for prototypes of original Range Rover. The new Velar is quite different vehicle compared to the original Range Rover launched almost five decades ago. Range Rover Velar offers type of luxury, refinement and all-terrain capability, which has never been seen in the mid-size SUV segment. It is a new type of Range Rover for a new type of customer.
Range Rover Velar is a sleek and sexy SUV, based on the same platform as the Jaguar F-Pace and it is placed between the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport in Land Rover’s luxury-oriented Range Rover family. Velar’s design is beautifully balanced with its powerful proportions to its continuous waistline through to the taut tapered lines of the rear. Thanks to the outstanding design, the lightweight and stiff aluminum underpinnings it will make a lot of fans happy, especially those who care about more than just looks. Velar’s smaller and more dynamic proportions for many will be more appealing. Regardless for its size Velar is still big enough to seat five but still small enough for carefree city driving. Although the sloped roof might make things a bit claustrophobic in the rear. Velar features flat-folding deployable door handles, a first in its segment, ultra-thin LED headlights and burnished copper detailing, all features that promise to influence Range Rovers of the future.
2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar from the inside looks basically the same as other Range Rovers. Velar’s cabin is designed as a calming sanctuary. The front seats are positioned in the Sports-Command driving position. With design that is performance-oriented, supported with opulent comfort. This cool seats offer up to 20-way adjustment and heating, cooling and massage functions. Making debut in the Velar’s cabin is the latest infotainment system. It uses two 10-inch touchscreens, the bottom working climate control and off-road modes while the top focuses on media, navigation and telephony. With two physical controller knobs, you can manipulate the bottom screen’s settings which contain inner screens that change based on its use.
