It is time to BMW goes further and start a new series and 2018 BMW 6-series Gran Turismo will be the first in there. The reason is not big changes in design or size, but only a physical border between the old models from 5-series and new 8-series which will represent the new era in BMW factory. So, this model should be accepted as the upgraded model from the last ones, but with recognizable details and measures. Speaking about the novelties there will be seen few changes which make this car more attractive and sexy.
Even though there are no much changes in the size of 2018 BMW 6-series Gran Turismo compared to the old model, there are few differences worth of mentioning. Gran Turismo is the same in width, but for 3.8 inches longer and only 1 inch lower, but that is more than obvious on photos. Thanks to those changes, it looks more like a sporty coupe than the current model. However, BMW fans will recognize front grille, separated on two gridded parts with a chromatic line around it. Two thin lights are at the end of it, with LED line as day light. The rear end is more rounded and lowered, with wide truck door and large lights.
There are few changes in the cabin of 2018 BMW 6-series Gran Turismo, too. Firstly, manufacturer removed a barrier between rear seats and the truck and the extra space between seats and truck. That enlarged the cabin, so it is more comfortable than before. Thanks to the quality materials, with nappa leather on the seats, it is as luxury as many expensive cars on the market. You may recognize the old fashioned dashboard with great button layout and available important commands thanks to the well positioned center console. Anyway, driver position is much better in this model and on old one, so future buyers will notice better visibility with more comfort.
Although manufacturer announced few trims of 2018 BMW 6-series Gran Turismo, the engine in those variants will be the same. That is 3.0-liter inline-six petrol turbocharged BMW B58 engine with 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, paired with eight-speed automatic transmission. The speed of 60 mph increases for 5.1 seconds. Official test driving has not done yet, so we cannot share other numbers for now.
