2018 Audi TT RS Design and Specs

2018 Audi TT RS

2018 Audi TT RS is a logical step in redesigning after the first version of it showed in 1999 and actually no other changes have been made since then. When the first model showed, it was close to Volkswagen GTI, so buyers expected another car in the class, with no much differences and surprises. Well, they were wrong, because Audi TT has been completely different from other GTI cars, with modern designed exterior and completely new front fascia, lines and edges. Now, when the new model is almost here, we wondered what the manufacturer has prepared now, and the list of novelties is very long.

Exterior

As we said, the first Audi on the market has attracted attention with special design, much different from other GTI models in that time. We should expect something similar with 2018 Audi TT RS, too. The attractive front end has classic rhomboidal mesh grille, rounded with chrome. Thin front lights practically extend on the sides of the grille, incorporating in hood line. There are two large air intakes on the sides of the lower end, providing better engine performances and faster driving. More interesting is rear end, with a sloppy roof, which ends on the rounded truck door with a wide spoiler on the top of it.

Interior

Even though that is not surprising, the manufacturer has promised the high exclusivity inside of 2018 Audi TT RS. Thanks to the highly expensive materials, like leather and carbon fiber, it provides great enjoyment and feeling of luxury. On the other side, there is large 12,3 inches touchscreen with commands for many interesting devices, like climate and navigate control, but some of the new technology, like controlling the engine power and torque outputs, together with fuel consumption and tires pressures. As optional equipment manufacturer listed armrests, diamond-pattern upholstery, and sports seats.

Engine

As 2018 Audi TT RS should be a sports car, we expected strong and fast machine in it and we were not wrong. The base model has 2.5-inline five-cylinder engine with 400 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. On test driving, this engine increases the speed of 60 mph for 3.6 seconds and showed the top speed of almost 174 mph. Fuel consumption has been measured 18 mpg city driving and 25 mpg highway.
